$25 million gift from Joseph A. Remai accelerates progress on new polytechnic campus

Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s ambitious new Saskatoon campus project continues to gain momentum, thanks to a landmark $25 million donation from Joseph A. Remai.

Remai’s contribution remains the largest individual gift in the institution’s history and serves as the foundation for the “Time to Rise” campaign, which aims to raise $100 million for the new centralized campus at Innovation Place.

The campus, now officially named the Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Joseph A. Remai Saskatoon Campus, is designed to bring together operations currently spread across 13 sites, providing students with state-of-the-art, technology-rich learning spaces.

Remai’s donation is directly supporting the construction of the first building and has also established the Joseph A. Remai Legacy Endowment Fund to ensure ongoing student support.

Since the announcement, the project has attracted additional major gifts—including $15 million from Nutrien and $7.5 million from the Dube family—and has received strong backing from the provincial government and community leaders.

Planning for the new facilities is ongoing, and the fundraising campaign continues to make significant strides.

Institutional leaders emphasize that Remai’s historic gift is already inspiring further investment and will have a lasting impact on education, workforce development, and economic growth in Saskatchewan.

The new campus is expected to serve thousands of students annually and stands as a testament to Remai’s enduring commitment to the province’s future.
