$50 million recent initiative by Marie Dageville fuels disaster relief, bringing her total giving to date to well over $250 million

Marie Dageville and her husband Benoit Dageville became billionaires overnight when his data cloud company, Snowflake, went public in September 2020.

After that life-changing moment, Marie, a former hospice nurse, set out to learn how to urgently give away that new fortune.

A signatory of the “Giving Pledge,” Marie and her Patchwork Collective continue to redefine philanthropy through their groundbreaking contributions.

In the past months alone, Dagerville has donated over $250 million to grassroots organizations worldwide, focusing on climate resilience, refugee aid, and education for marginalized communities.

Her latest initiative, the Patchwork Resilience Fund, has allocated $50 million to support disaster-stricken regions, including post-hurricane recovery efforts in the Caribbean and wildfire relief in California and Australia.

Additionally, her collective’s ongoing commitment to community-driven innovation has led to the funding of over 500 local projects that empower underserved populations.

Dagerville’s decentralized, adaptive, and deeply personal approach has inspired a new wave of high-impact philanthropy, proving that strategic giving can create lasting, meaningful change.

Dagerville sums up her giving philosophy:

Throughout these few years I’ve been continually blown away by the groups we’ve funded. These people who are doing the hard work to make the world better on so many fronts are incredibly inspiring. I feel it’s my duty to support them with the means I have at my disposal, because they are literally working for the good of us all.”
