$50 million naming gift from Sidd Pagidipati and family to transform pediatric care

In a landmark act of philanthropy, Sidd Pagidipati and his siblings Rahul and Srujani have donated $50 million to Tampa’s St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation—one of the largest healthcare gifts in Florida’s history. The donation will fund the creation of the new Pagidipati Children’s Hospital at St. Joseph’s, set to open in 2030, significantly expanding pediatric care and research in the region.
The gift honors the siblings’ parents, Dr. Devaiah and Dr. Rudrama Pagidipati, both retired physicians, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary and five decades in the U.S. The couple’s lifelong dedication to medicine deeply influenced their children’s desire to give back.
Inspired by personal ties—Sidd’s own children were born at St. Joseph’s—and conversations with hospital staff, the family viewed the project not as a donation, but as a long-term investment in children’s health and the future of the Tampa Bay community.
Sidd and his wife Ami are longtime supporters of child-focused education and health initiatives, both locally and abroad. Their broader mission is to make Tampa “the best place to raise a family,” and this gift reflects that vision.
The Pagidipatis’ philanthropy is rooted in their entrepreneurial success. Sidd co-founded Freedom Health, which grew into one of the largest private Medicare Advantage providers in the country.
His continued leadership in healthcare innovation, including with Physician Partners, has provided both the financial means and the industry insight to pursue impactful, sustainable giving.
From their roots in medicine to their commitment to community investment, the Pagidipati family is helping reshape the future of pediatric care—one child at a time.
