$50 million gift from B.J. Werzyn earns naming rights of stadium

Penn State’s Board of Trustees has approved the naming of West Shore Field at Beaver Stadium, recognizing a $50 million gift from West Shore Home, owned by B.J. Werzyn.

Werzyn, a 1999 Penn State graduate, is the founder and CEO of West Shore Home, a home remodeling company based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Under his leadership, the company has grown into a nationwide operation specializing in bath, shower, and window replacements.

Werzyn has maintained strong ties to Penn State, signing running back Nick Singleton to a multi-year NIL deal in 2022 and actively supporting university athletics.

The 15-year naming contract, running through 2039, is structured with $10 million paid over the next decade and the remaining $40 million over 50 years. Penn State’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Pat Kraft called it the most significant athletic facility naming gift in the country and said the upfront investment will help fund Beaver Stadium’s $700 million renovation.

Discussions around stadium naming rights remain ongoing, with Penn State actively exploring new revenue streams. Kraft and President Neeli Bendapudi have signaled openness to further sponsorships, potentially extending to Beaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center.
