$25 million donation for school of health science from Dr. Yousry and Linda Sayed

The University of North Carolina Wilmington announced it has received a $25 million donation to the School of Health Science.

Dr. Yousry Sayed, the owner of Quality Chemical Labs, contributed the large donation together with his wife Linda.

This is the largest donation ever made to UNCW.

UNCW says $20 million will be allocated over the next five years to UNCW’s programs in medical education, clinical care, research, and healthcare accessibility.

“Additionally, $5 million is designated to programs to recruit prospective teachers. A portion of this funding will support scholarships for individuals transitioning to a teaching career,” the university stated.

Dr. Yousry Sayed says the donation invests in future teachers and healthcare professionals.

“We want to empower students with the knowledge and skills to help others lead productive and fulfilling lives. Linda and I believe in the mission and vision of this great university, and we are pleased to contribute in a way that will allow UNCW to continue to grow in service to our region and state,” said Dr. Sayed.

In light of the donation, the Education Building will be renamed for Sayed and his wife, Linda.
