$20 million new gift from Jay and Patty Baker makes new orthopedic pavilion a reality

Naples philanthropists Jay and Patty Baker have given a $20 million matching grant to support the construction of the Patty & Jay Baker Pavilion, a cutting-edge orthopedic surgical center at NCH North Naples Hospital.
This new facility, developed in partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), will bring world-class musculoskeletal care to Southwest Florida and is set to open in March 2025.
The Bakers’ generous contribution is a major milestone in advancing healthcare in the region, continuing their long history of philanthropy.
They have donated more than $23 million to NCH Healthcare System, including $5 million for a patient care tower and additional funding for palliative care at Mount Sinai.
Beyond healthcare, the Bakers have supported education, the arts, and community initiatives with transformative gifts, including:
$15 million to endow the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at Wharton
$11 million for Wharton’s academic center and scholarships
$10 million to the Naples Museum of Art, now named in their honor
$10 million to expand the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Funding for scholarships at the Fashion Institute of Technology and community organizations like the Humane Society Naples and PAWS Assistance Dogs is also significant.
Their philanthropy has had a profound impact, especially through initiatives like the Baker Leadership Scholars Program at Wharton, which supports students with financial need, leadership potential, and academic excellence.
With their latest $20 million gift, Jay and Patty Baker are once again making a lasting difference, ensuring top-tier orthopedic care for the Naples community and beyond.
