$20 million gift by Ted and Mary Kellner helps launch new football indoor practice facility

Wisconsin Athletics’ new Football Indoor Practice Facility, a $285 million project, has been approved by the State Building Commission, with construction set to commence in 2025.

The project, initiated by a $20 million gift from Ted and Mary Kellner, will replace the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center and the 80-yard football practice field in the McClain Center. The facility will benefit the training of the majority of Wisconsin’s 23 sports and 800 student-athletes.

The State Building Commission also approved the reduction of the size of the Kohl Center ice sheet, from Olympic-sized to NHL dimensions

The approval of the Football Indoor Practice Facility marks an exciting step forward for Wisconsin Athletics, with significant implications for the university’s sports programs and student-athletes.
