The Minnesota Orchestra has announced that its main auditorium at Orchestra Hall will be renamed the Lindahl Auditorium this fall, honoring longtime supporters Nancy and John Lindahl.
The couple has pledged $15 million to support the orchestra.
Nancy Lindahl’s dedication to the orchestra spans decades, including board service since 1998 and a recently concluded tenure as chair.
Under her leadership, the organization secured funding for new initiatives such as the upcoming Upper Harbor Terminal Amphitheater, which is set to break ground later this year.
“The Minnesota Orchestra has meant the world to me since I was a child,” Nancy Lindahl said in a statement celebrating the announcement.
The auditorium renaming will coincide with a period of transition for the orchestra, which recently welcomed Isaac Thompson as its new president and CEO.
The new season is scheduled to begin on September 18 with a concert featuring works by Leonard Bernstein and Richard Strauss.
