David Saltzman

Mr. David Saltzman is the Founder at NPower. Mr. Saltzman was the Founding Board Member at Robin Hood since 1988. Prior to joining Robin Hood, Mr. Saltzman served as the Special Assistant to the President of the Board of Education of the City of New York for three years.

Before working at the Board of Education, he ran AIDS education programs for the New York City Department of Health. Mr. Saltzman served as a Director at Mode Media Corporation (formerly Glam Media, Inc.) from September 2012 to October 29, 2015. He serves as the Chairman of the Excellence Boys Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant and the Excellence Girls Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant.

Mr. Saltzman has been an Independent Director at New Residential Investment Corp. since April 29, 2013. He serves on the Boards of the Trust for Governors Island; the Brazelton Touchpoints Center, and the Relay Graduate School of Education. Previously, Mr. Saltzman served as a Member of Mayor Bloomberg’s Commission for Economic Opportunity.

He began his career in public service working with homeless families for the Human Resources Administration of the City of New York, the city’s Department of Social Services. Mr. Saltzman served as an Executive Director of The Robin Hood Foundation since 1989. He served as a Director of NPowerNY Inc. In 2001, Mr. Saltzman was named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Innovators. He earned a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelors Degree from Brown University.
