$10 million latest gift from Amy Rollins Kreisler and family opens new doors to advanced medical care, extending their philanthropic impact to $293.1 million

Beebe Healthcare has received a record-setting $10 million donation from the Ma-Ran Foundation, the largest philanthropic gift in the organization’s 108-year history and the largest ever made to a healthcare institution in Sussex County.

The donation will support Beebe’s Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, accelerate expansion plans, and strengthen the hospital’s capacity to meet the needs of a fast-growing coastal Delaware community.

Hospital officials say the investment will fund advanced technology, new patient care initiatives, and critical infrastructure improvements.

“This extraordinary gift ensures that Beebe can continue to deliver world-class healthcare close to home,” said Amy Rollins Kreisler, Executive Director of the Ma-Ran Foundation.

“It reflects our family’s deep commitment to Beebe and to the people of Sussex County.”

The $10 million infusion comes at a pivotal moment for Beebe, which has seen patient demand rise sharply as southern Delaware experiences population growth.

The funds will help the hospital expand specialty services, invest in new diagnostic and surgical equipment, and enhance patient experience at the Lewes campus.

“This is a transformational moment for Beebe and for the community we serve,” said Dr. David Tam, President and CEO of Beebe Healthcare.

“It allows us to build on our history of community-focused care and move boldly into the future.”

Community leaders hailed the Ma-Ran Foundation’s gift as a milestone for Sussex County philanthropy, noting that healthcare systems in rapidly expanding regions often face challenges in keeping pace with demand.

The foundation’s investment provides both immediate and long-term support for Beebe’s vision.

“This remarkable commitment will ripple across the county for generations,” said Lisa Henderson, Chair of the Beebe Medical Foundation.

“It is not just an investment in bricks and mortar but in the health, security, and quality of life of every family in our region.”

Beebe Healthcare, a nonprofit community health system founded in 1916, operates hospitals and medical campuses throughout Sussex County.

The organization relies heavily on community support, and officials said the Ma-Ran Foundation’s donation highlights the vital role of philanthropy in sustaining regional healthcare.

With this latest gift, Beebe Healthcare joins a growing list of mid-sized health systems across the country benefiting from large-scale philanthropy aimed at improving community access to advanced medical care.
