Jeff Koons’ Balloon Monkey sells for $12.4 million in support of Ukraine

In support of humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, Jeff Koons’ Balloon Monkey sculpture, created in 2006-2013, sold for $12 million at Christie’s London auction house. This purple polished and stainless steel piece stands at 150 by 126 by 235 inches, and solemnly reminds us of the simple pleasures absent from those living through the war in Ukraine. Victor Pinchuk, Ukrainian businessman and billionaire, shares that all proceeds will go toward saving lives of those affected by the war. Mr. Pinchuk was previously featured on the cover of Lifestyles Magazine/Meaningful Influence following a joint project with Steven Spielberg.
