The Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, which began in 2013, was designed with a focus on nonpartisan policy ideas to broaden new Latin America’s relevance and recognition across diverse communities. Arsht, whom the centre is named after, is a former bank chair and philanthropist who is highly recognized for her work in New York, Miami, and Washington.
Arsht’s gift will support the centres focus on shaping solutions to global challenges by supporting their work on a diverse range of issues including climate change and migration.
“The countries in Latin America, the number that are democracies, are dwindling before our eyes,” said Adrienne Arsht about the Latin region. “I think it needs more attention.”
