$50 million gift for Alzheimer’s research from Cardinal Family

Cure Alzheimer’s Fund has received a record-breaking $50 million gift from The Cardinal Family Fund, representing the largest contribution in the organization’s two-decade history and a major development for Alzheimer’s research across the United States.
The nonprofit, based in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, announced that the landmark donation will be used over the next five years to drive progress through three pillars strategically: the Cardinal Family Scholars Fund to accelerate the careers of emerging Alzheimer’s researchers, the Cardinal Family Precision Medicine Research Fund to address the complexities of disease risk among diverse populations, and the Cardinal Family Emergency Relief Fund, which will safeguard critical research amid federal policy changes or funding interruptions.
Chair and Co-Founder Henry McCance praised the donation as an expression of profound confidence in Cure Alzheimer’s Fund’s mission, while CEO Meg Smith called the gift a visionary step that will propel the search for new treatments and ultimately a cure.
