The Woburn, Massachusetts-based Cummings Foundation of Joyce and Bill Cummigs has announced 150 grants worth $30 million for charitable organizations in the Boston area.
125 of the 150 NGOs received funds totaling up to $225,000 over three years. Each of the final 25 finalists received a grant worth between $300,000 and $1 million, which will be paid over ten years. the Acton Food Pantry, which received $135,000 to increase home delivery and launch a mobile market program; Lifting Spirits Miniature Therapy Horses, which will receive $30,000 to expand the quantity and variety of therapeutic visits, social/emotional learning opportunities, and academic supports using rescued miniature horses; and Clarendon Early Education Services, which received $225,000 to develop an extensive online training program.
The Community Day Care Center of Lawrence ($300,000), which will assist siblings supported by the Department of Children and Families living in separate foster homes by providing regular, well-supported, and enjoyable opportunities to spend time together; Si, Se Puede ($350,000), which will continue and improve educational enrichment for kids and teens from Merrimack Courts Public Housing Project by increasing staff capacity; and The Boston Fight Club ($150,000); are recipients of the 10-year grants.
Since the start of the Cummings Foundation’s official grantmaking program in 2012, it has given out gifts totaling $480 million.
