$15 million gift from Craig and Frances Lindner for healing center

A Blood Cancer Healing Center will open at the University of Cincinnati in 2024 thanks in part to a $15 million donation from some familiar faces.
An illustrious Cincinnati couple, Craig and Frances Lindner will be honored in a University of Cincinnati medical facility after gifting millions to help build out the project and bring in a world-renowned physician researcher.
UC’s board of trustees approved the naming of the Craig and Frances Lindner Atrium in the former Shriners Hospital for Children building, which the university is spending $74 million to remodel into its new Blood Cancer Healing Center on the school’s east campus.
The facility is intended as a destination care center for treatment and research of blood cancers.
- Craig Lindner was elected Co-Chief Executive Officer in January 2005. He has served as Co-President and a director of American Financial Group since March 1996. From 1999 until the sale of the business in May 2021 he served as Chief Executive Officer of Great American Financial Resources, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of AFG that marketed traditional fixed and indexed annuities.
Mr. Lindner also oversees the investment portfolios of AFG and its affiliated companies.
He has worked in various roles within the AFG affiliated companies since 1977.
