$130 million latest gift from philanthropists David and Simon Reuben deepens their global impact with ongoing landmark philanthropic contributions

The Reuben brothers continue to make a profound and far-reaching impact through the Reuben Foundation, which has donated in the hundreds of millions since its inception in 2002.

Their philanthropic efforts span the globe, with a deep focus on education, healthcare, cultural enrichment, and community development—anchored by a commitment to both local and international causes.

A cornerstone of their giving remains the transformational $101 million recent donation to Oxford University, establishing Reuben College—Oxford’s first new graduate college in 30 years.

This pioneering gift funds interdisciplinary research into global challenges, provides scholarships for disadvantaged students, and bolstered pandemic-era healthcare infrastructure.

An additional over $10 million gift followed to refurbish college facilities and develop the Reuben Graduate Centre.

Healthcare remains a top priority.

In early 2025, the Reuben Foundation made a significant donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital, enhancing pediatric healthcare services.

Their wider healthcare legacy includes the Reuben Foundation Maternity Centre at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, the Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street, and the Reuben Imaging Centre at Royal Marsden Hospital.

In the United States, the Foundation has supported leading institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, while also funding education and community-based programs in underserved neighborhoods in New York City and Los Angeles.

A landmark $130 million new pledge in 2025 toward a track development project underscores their commitment to community infrastructure and youth sports.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, their rapid-response donation of 12.1 tons of food to the Newcastle West End Foodbank fed over 2,000 families in need.

The Reuben brothers have also demonstrated deep support for Jewish and Israeli causes.

Their Foundation has funded a range of initiatives including educational and community programs through UK-based Jewish charities such as Norwood and UJIA (United Jewish Israel Appeal).

In Israel, they have contributed to vital healthcare and youth development organizations, including support for Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and youth empowerment programs serving underprivileged communities.

Long-time champions of education, the Reubens have established scholarship programs with Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL, and funded the Reuben Business Faculty at Oxford Spires Academy.

Their cultural support spans both the UK and U.S., enriching institutions like the BFI Reuben Library, BAFTA Reuben Gallery, and the Lyric Theatre’s Reuben Wing in Hammersmith.

From elite universities to community hospitals, from Jewish heritage to global health, the Reuben Foundation continues to build a legacy of meaningful influence—improving lives and opening doors around the world.
