$10 million gift to Vassar from Jason Blum

Vassar College has been given a $10 million donation toward financial aid from award-winning film and television producer Jason Blum.

Blum is the founder and CEO of Blumhouse production company, best known for movies including Get Out and Whiplash.

He intends for the funds to support passionate students seeking the best education in liberal arts regardless of their financial situation.
Vassar College is an independent liberal arts college established in New York in 1861.

Blum graduated from Vassar with a major in drama and has since become a three-time Academy Award nominee, two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner, and three-time Peabody Award winner.

He has also served on Vassar’s board of trustees since 2015.

“As we prepare to launch the largest campaign in Vassar’s history, Jason Blum’s gift for
financial aid is catalytic and will have a positive impact on innumerable lives of Vassar students for years to come,” said Vassar’s president, Elizabeth H. Bradley.
